Gösta Melin started Essemce in his basement in 1947, selling to the glassworks of Småland’s “Kingdom of Crystal.” It now supplies tools and production equipment to glassworks, studios, and schools in more than fifty countries, from Orrefors Kosta Boda and Iittala to individual artists. Its hand tools include the KS, GS, SH, and SMC shear series and stainless pipes, pontils, and gathering irons.
