What it is
Furnace glasses are safety glasses with lenses made for looking into hot glass. Phillips’ light-green polycarbonate lens, for example, is made for furnace work, with UV and IR protection.[1]
How it’s used
Phillips recommends its light-green glasses for anyone working with glassblowing or other hot glass, with good color recognition for furnace work and good clarity.[1] Prescription versions are available by special order.[1]
