Cup shears
Small, slim-bladed shears for fine cutting on cups and stemware.
What it is
Cup shears are small shears with short, slim blades and a small capacity. Jim Moore’s cup shear, for example, has 1-5/8” blades and is “intended for use on intricate work where chomping through heavy material is not an issue”.[1]
How it’s used
They’re made for stemware and other fine cutting, where the work is small and precise rather than heavy.[1] Jim Moore also makes a D2-steel version with thinner blades, which he says is tougher and “will make short work of boro or cool glass”.[1]
