Cork paddles and pads
Dense cork blocks and paddles for shaping hot glass without leaving marks.
What it is
Thick blocks of dense cork, usually 2” deep, with a handle: Correll makes cork paddles in 9” × 6” and 12” × 9”,[1] and Glass Toolbox makes 200 × 150 × 50 mm cork blocks by hand in Wiltshire.[2]
How it’s used
Cork’s selling point is that it shapes glass without marking it: Correll sells its paddles “for mark free shaping”,[1] and Glass Toolbox says its blocks let you shape your glass without leaving a mark, with handles for a secure grip.[2]
