Copas
Tools that shape a wrap of hot glass into a crisp half-round or triangular profile.
What it is
Jim Moore makes two: the traditional copa and the triangular copa, both 12”.[1]
How it’s used
The traditional copa “will make an ordinary wrap into a perfect half-round”, with the size depending on the wrap and the user; the triangular copa makes crisp triangular wraps.[1] Jim Moore notes that Augustin Fresnel found triangular wraps (prisms) have great optical properties.[1]
